Empowering Tomorrow’s Innovators Today
At TurningPoint Magazine Africa, our core mission has always been about amplifying grassroots voices and showcasing transformative stories that inspire change. On August 8, 2026, at the lush grounds of Moi Girls High School, Nairobi, that mission took center stage as we joined forces with Littlecab at the 9th Young Scientists Kenya (YSK) National Science & Technology Exhibition.
Bringing together over 300 young finalists, educators, and innovators from all 47 counties including refugee-hosting regions and historically marginalized areas the exhibition was a testament to the untapped genius present in every corner of Kenya. Guided by the theme "Shaping Kenya’s AI Future Using STEM," the event served as a vibrant backdrop for deep conversations about inclusion, gender equity, and youth empowerment.
Bridging the Divide: Women and Marginalized Regions in STEM
Throughout the day, the joint team from TurningPoint Magazine and Littlecab held interactive sessions with students and teachers hailing from remote and marginalized areas from Northern Kenya to refugee communities in Kakuma and Dadaab.
A central focus of our discussions was bridging the gender and geographical divide in science and technology. We explored how young women in rural and under-resourced schools are defying odds, building solutions in agriculture, healthcare, and artificial intelligence, and rewriting the narrative of what is possible.

Our sessions highlighted the role of inclusive media and digital storytelling in building confidence among young female innovators. By showcasing their work on platforms like TurningPoint Magazine, we ensure that their stories inspire millions of other girls across Africa to pursue STEM careers without fear or limitation.
A Partnership Driven by Impact: TurningPoint Magazine x Littlecab
Partnering with Littlecab a brand deeply rooted in technology and Kenyan innovation underscored the power of cross-sector collaboration. Together, we introduced students and educators to the magazine’s mission: capturing real, human stories behind social change and technological progress.
Teachers expressed immense enthusiasm for incorporating grassroots success stories into their classrooms, noting that seeing peers from rural counties featured on national media boosts student morale and drives academic ambition.
Looking Ahead
As the 9th YSK Exhibition concluded, one truth stood out: Kenya's future in science and AI is bright, diverse, and undeniably female-led.
